Job Responsibilities

1. Counsels students on all aspects of financial aid. Includes the areas of satisfactory academic progress, minimum completion rate, maximum length of eligibility, grade point average, probation, appeals process, and re-application process. Provides information about the various financial aid programs, eligibility requirements of each program, the charges each program will cover, and how the different aid programs interact with each other. Essential 25%
2. Responsible for file processing and verification for an assigned student population. Includes reviewing incoming documents, scanning documents into the college's document imaging repository, submitting corrections, and ensuring the student's file is complete for financial aid packaging. Essential 25%
3. Manages the Federal Supplemental Educational Opportunity Grant (SEOG) program. Determines student eligibility and administers the program in accordance with Federal regulations. Monitor the SEOG budget to ensure at least 75% of the funds are spent and the remainder is transferred to the Federal Work Study program or transferred to the next year. Manages the SEOG waiting list to award funds to additional students as funds become available. Essential 20%
4. Assists applicants with completion of the FAFSA application and other required documents. Promotes excellent customer service by assisting visitors to the office with various needs. Answers telephone calls and responds to emails concerning financial aid and other aspects of the college. Assists with front counter coverage according to an established schedule and on an as needed basis during peak registration periods. Essential 15%
5. Prepares and presents financial aid and financial literacy sessions to interested groups, students, parents, faculty and staff. Coordinates events that markets and publicizes financial aid. Essential 10% 7. Other duties as assigned. Marginal 5%
