The Director of Financial Aid is responsible for the overall operation and services of the Financial Aid department. S/he implements, supervises and participates in part or all of the design, organization and evaluation of Student Services functions as they relate to assisting financial aid and veteran students in continuing their education. S/he must be knowledgeable of all offerings, purposes, and goals of the college and have thorough knowledge of all rules, regulations, and mandates as specified by the U.S. Department of Education, U.S. Department of Veterans Affairs, and the State of North Carolina in the administration of financial aid and veterans’ programs. S/he counsels and advises students regarding financial aid benefits. S/he conducts financial aid workshops at the college and at high schools for the general public and for students attending the college. S/he provides leadership for the development and implementation of strategies aimed at reducing the college’s student loan default rate, including education programs and activities for students, faculty and staff.
