We are seeking a Coordinator of Veteran’s Affairs to provide leadership, advocacy, and comprehensive support to our military-affiliated student population.

Essential Job Functions

 

What You’ll Do

  • Oversee daily operations of the Veteran’s Affairs Office and serve as the lead contact for veterans and military-connected students
  • Ensure compliance with VA regulations, State policies, and institutional guidelines
  • Provide academic and financial advising specific to VA educational benefits, including GI Bill® and Vocational Rehabilitation programs
  • Certify student eligibility and enrollment for VA benefits and maintain accurate records
  • Serve as a liaison to the Department of Veterans Affairs, other campus offices, and external agencies
  • Develop and implement orientation programs, workshops, and events for veteran students
  • Advocate for student success by counseling students on financial aid, registration, and academic progress
  • Monitor and resolve overpayment issues and support students with Satisfactory Academic Progress (SAP) appeals
  • Maintain positive relationships with the veteran student community and serve as Veterans’ Club liaison
  • Coordinate veteran-focused communications and marketing in partnership with the Financial Aid Office

Minimum Training and Experience

 

What We’re Looking For

  • Bachelor’s degree in Business, Education, or a closely related field required
  • 3–5 years of related experience in veteran services, enrollment management, financial aid, or academic advising
  • Experience in compliance monitoring, marketing, outreach, and student advising
  • Ability to operate and learn systems such as Microsoft Office, Datatel (Colleague), GoArmy Portal, AI Portal, and other VA-related platforms
  • Must possess a valid North Carolina driver’s license
