Position Summary
The Office of Scholarships and Student Aid is looking to hire temporary support in the Counseling, Processing & Outreach Unit. The position provides in-person support at both the front desk & back-office customer support in the Office of Scholarships and Student Aid. The position will assist students and families with the financial aid application process; Apply federal and state administrative rules and institutional guidelines to family/student financial circumstances; Communicate with other departments such as Student Accounts or the University Registrar concerning billing or student registration information. This position will offer suggestions for improvement of in-person services and will recommend when specific messaging is needed based on interactions with students and campus partners.
Minimum Education and Experience Requirements
Bachelor’s degree; or equivalent combination of training and experience. All degrees must be received from appropriately accredited institutions.
Required Qualifications, Competencies, and Experience
Candidate must have excellent oral and written communication skills. Experience delivering high-quality service in a high volume, fast-paced office environment and interpreting and explaining program policy and procedures, preferably in the field of financial aid or student services at a college or university setting. Must be able to manage multiple, ongoing priorities; work independently as well as in a team environment and in a professional manner.

The selected candidate must also have past professional experience demonstrating superior interpersonal skills, attention to detail, organizational skills, and experience preparing and delivering presentations before an audience. Must possess ability to research individual issues and adjust processes to address special individual concerns while maintaining a calm, pleasant, and helpful disposition in an intense public relations function.

Experience working in a higher education setting.
