Primary Function of Organizational Unit
The purpose of this organizational unit is to administer all of the student financial assistance, and to coordinate all of the Title IV student assistance programs, in which the institution participates, with the institutions’ other federal and non-federal programs of student financial assistance. Our population exceeds 7,500 students with over 90% receiving financial assistance through our office. This unit is responsible for the accountability of approximately $50 million in student assistance.
Primary Purpose of Position
The primary purpose of this position is to assist the Business Systems Analyst in the application, development and analysis functions of the Financial Aid Department’s technology and application systems. Assist with business processes to meet end user requirements and Federal, State, District, local, and department regulatory mandates, rules, regulations, policies, and procedures. Assists with the use of financial aid databases and applications; tests and maintains data analysis and reporting programs to enhance and support reporting requirements and data tracking needs.
Required Knowledge, Skills, and Abilities
  • Banner Experience preferred
  • Thorough knowledge of Financial Aid Management principles and be able to adapt those principles to technology applications.
  • Operationally oriented individual with technical orientation and previous clerical and production office experience is preferable.
  • Must have an extensive understanding of the University culture and operations throughout the campus, and
  • Must have the ability to work collaboratively with other university units to identify and minimize risk while maximizing efficiency.
Minimum Education/Experience
  • Bachelor’s degree and one year of experience related to the area of assignment; or and equivalent combination of training and experience.
  • At least three years of communications, marketing, and/or development experience (preferred, but not required).
  • All degrees must be received from appropriately accredited institutions.

  • Ability to execute Argos Reports or standard reports with accuracy and the ability to troubleshoot functional system problems and coordinate solutions.

Duties
    • Ensures successful storage and retrieval of data across a variety of campus systems; ensures financial aid systems interface with other campus systems.
    • Must have a thorough knowledge of all federal, state, and institutional policies, rules and regulations regarding financial aid administration.
    • Learns and applies emerging technologies and, as necessary, to perform duties in an efficient, organized, and timely manner.
    • Implement and retain Banner data storage plan for all Department of Education Files
